This place is amazing. I have been there three times and it still amazes me. There’s nothing like this in other countries, so Pamukkale is quite unique. There is also an ancient city called Hierapolis at the top of Pamukkale, which is also stunning. And 15 minutes from Pamukkale there’s a natural thermal hot spring in Karahayit, which is also nice to see. So If you guys have the opportunity, you should really visit Denizli (town) in Turkey. You will be stunned by the natural beauty of this city.

I really enjoyed your article. We are going to stay in Kemer in Sept 2012, and really want to visit Pamukkale. Our flight will arrive on a Saturday at noon in Antalya, and we thought to take a bus from there to Pamukkale, stay over, spend the Sunday there and return to Kemer. Would you recommend that or should we rather book in at our hotel in Kemer and go on a day tour in the week?

Ah, Brighton of sandy beaches. I kid you not. Some (American) fellow writers on the sites I contribute to have suggested as much. That, and a travel tip indicting that it’s 4 hours’ journey from London to Oxford. So busy am I trouble-shooting the nonsense! :-)

Thank you Aya, that’s very kind of you! I think once the events begin Londoners will begin to appreciate how exciting it is to have the Olympics on our doorstep – but I agree, it’ll be more comfortable watching them on TV at home!
