I am a British writer, who has lived and travelled in Eurasia since 2005. While working in its cities, as a Russian translator, English editor, journalist and wine & spirits analyst, I have wandered to the unknown towns and wildernesses of Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus.
EURASIAN ECHOES is a collection of stories, articles and photographs, about the people and places that have been part of my journeys through Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine – as well as Bulgaria and Turkey.
There are also links to my writing for Lonely Planet, Russia Beyond, Open Central Asia, The Calvert Journal and other publications, some interviews with me, and my translations of some books and poems from the post-Soviet space.
My photographs are available to buy as prints from my photography store. To work with me, please take a look at my ‘About me / Work with me’ page.
