After completing a degree in Russian at Exeter University I was the full-time in-house translator at three international companies. Between 2007 and 2010 I worked in Ukraine, at the law firms Volkov & Partners and Beiten Burkhardt in Kyiv. From January 2011 until October 2015 I was the translator and proofreader at Adam Smith Conferences in London, the leading organisor of business forums for the major industries in Russia and the CIS.
As part of my university course I spent a year studying in Russia (2005/6), at Yartek Language School in Yaroslavl and the linguistics department at Tver State University.
I also take on translation assignments on a freelance basis. Since 2010 I have worked for The Calvert Journal (Russian culture), Sovcomflot Group (oil & gas shipping), Russian Insight (political intelligence), WorldOne (medical research) and many other companies. I also volunteer to translate reports for the children’s charity HealthProm, also based in London.
