Photo set: Kyiv’s Arsenal’na district

A cathedral at the Lavra cave monastery, Kyiv.

A collection of photographs taken in the Arsenal’na district of Kyiv; of the Lavra cave monastery and its grounds, the Rodina Mat’ (Motherland) war memorial statue, and other important parts of the neighbourhood. Click on any of the photos below to enlarge them.

One of my articles about Arsenal’na appears on the Been there blog – part of The Guardian newspaper’s travel section.

  1. Beautiful photos! One remark: the district is called “Pechersk”; “Arsenal’na” is just the name of one (of several) metro stops located in Pechersk.

  2. Absolutely love all the Kiev photos – they make me homesick for a place I’ve only been to a few times. And your articles give equally brilliant snapshots of the city. Keep it up.
